Ferdinand Optimists

The Ferdinand Optimist Club helps to create a better world by "bringing out the best in children”. Optimists use their time, talent, and treasure to plan, coordinate, and host fund raisers, youth activities, and community service events.  Optimists are autonomous and have a unique flexibility to serve the youth of our community in any way they see fit.  In 2007-2008, the Ferdinand Optimists either hosted or supported the following events:

• (3) Movie Nights
• Operations Voices & Love
• Tri-Star Basketball
• Heimatfest Car Cram Fire Drill
• Scrub Baseball
• 4H Fund Raiser [Steamed Corn/Potatoes]
• Picnic in the Park
• Ice Cream Social at Cedar Crest

Worldwide, Optimists conduct 65,000 community service projects each year, spending $78 million in their communities.  Six million kids are positively affected by Optimist programs. 

“Remember, when life hands you lemons, you can always make lemonade.”  That’s what the Ferdinand Optimists do.
